Health Promotion

Health Promotion is the science and art of helping people evaluate their lifestyle to move toward a state of optimal health. We define optimal health as a balance of physical, emotional, career, social, spiritual, and intellectual health. Lifestyle change can be facilitated through a combination of efforts to enhance awareness, change behavior and create environments that support health practices. The curriculum in health promotion has a strong science base that is complimented with coursework in exercise science, health promotion, business, and field experiences. Our students are well prepared for careers in a wide variety of allied health fields.
